Help Us Rebuild After the Flood

The Aerium is seeking to raise $100,000 for urgent flood recovery and repairs.

What Happened

On Aug 31, 2025 a severe rainstorm caused significant flooding in our studio. Water poured through the roof and walls, damaging ceilings, drywall, insulation, and adjacent units. As a movement-based school, this kind of moisture infiltration isn’t just inconvenient—it’s dangerous. Aerial equipment, mats, rigging points, and floors were all affected, and moisture readings are still high weeks later.

Our landlords have been slow to respond, and the damage extends beyond our space into unaddressed neighboring units, putting our entire building’s structural and health integrity at risk.

We are a small, independent arts business—and we’ve been absorbing the costs of mitigation, alternative rehearsal space, and lost business while continuing to support our students and performance company.

We’re asking our community and supporters to help us raise $100,000 to:

  • Repair flood damage (walls, ceilings, flooring, rigging inspections)

  • Pay for ongoing moisture mitigation and mold prevention

  • Cover the cost of temporary space

  • Replace damaged gear and safety equipment

  • Offset lost revenue from canceled classes and space rentals

  • Prepare for legal or relocation expenses if our landlord fails to act

Why It Matters

The Aerium is more than a studio. It's:

  • A creative home to aerialists, dancers, and movers of all ages

  • A professional performance incubator building a future for circus in San Antonio

  • A place of healing, transformation, and joy—in the air and on the ground

  • We've helped hundreds of students discover their strength and fly—now we need your help to land safely and rebuild stronger than before.

Birthdays

“Dara and Claudia have created a high quality place to train. You can trust them for safety, rigorous and progressive training, creativity, and health.  There are a LOT of skills being offered in this studio. And if  not offered yet, I suspect there will be because they are always learning and opening up to new disciplines. I’ve known both of these women for some years now and I can vouch they take their stuff very seriously. My daughter is a very serious circus student and I am extremely selective with who trains her and this is where she is training.
